This is a high-quality machine, that deserves It’s price tag.

The design of this machine is also pretty nice, it just looks good. It has a retractable cord, which is a great feature. Works great on bare floors (wood and tile floors). The only downside is, it doesn’t work that great on carpets. If you don’t have carpets, you can’t go wrong with this BISSELL.

Conlusion & Final Recommendations

The Electrolux is my favourite canister vacuum of all times. Why? It looks good and it does everything I want it to do. I never had any technical problems with it. High-quality machine which is well-worth its price. I know it isn’t cheap but don’t be afraid to spend more money on a good vacuum if you are planning to use it for next couple of years. You can buy it here.

The PortaPower
is great for everything in small houses. I love how it stands out from the others design wise. It has lots of features… Can’t go wrong with the price!

The BISSELL
is by far one of the cheapest canisters I used that actually do a solid job for everything. If you are on a budget then you should take this one. I don’t think you will get cheaper for the quality.

The Miele Classic Olympus is one of the best products from Miele I used. I think it stands out because of the details this unit has. The vacuum bags are super. The vacuum emits almost no dust, which means perfect for people with allergies. In my opinion it is a little too expensive but that’s because you are paying for your brand. If you do have the money however, and you are looking for the perfect Miele. This is the one.

The Kenmore Cleaner Orange
What can I say about the orange one from Kenmore? It does the job and It makes the cleaning experience easier and more fun. Great product for the price!

So here we are! At the end of my top 5 canister vacuums. I hope I helped you decide what your next canister will be. If you are coming from an upright. It can be little awkward getting used to pulling a vac behind you without constantly running over the cord. But you will get the hang of quickly.

If you have any more questions or you saw a product online, send me a mail and I will glady assist you further. Have a nice day vacuuming!

  1. Kudos for mentioning the orange Kenny. It is a very good value indeed. It has a lime green near twin. The differences between the two are the way one turns them on and how the cords rewind. The lime green model is turned on and off at the back end of the canister. The switch on the hose only operates the floor brush power. The cord is pull to rewind, just like old Sears Best vacuums from the 1970s. The orange model is a big more upscale. The off on switch on the green machine becomes a cord rewind pedal on the orange model. Press the pedal and the cord retracts. Very nice and newer Kenmore cord winders are quite reliable. On the orange canister you switch the canister on and off at the hose. Just like the more expensive Progressive and Elite, you have a three position slide switch marked off, floor and carpet. Off is obvious, floor turns the canister motor on but doesn’t power up the Powermate floor brush so you can use it to vacuum hard floors. The Carpet setting powers up the Powermate. Both are very good values.

Btw, if you have the time head down to your local sears and give the Kenmore Elite a try. It is the most powerful canister vacuum sold today and will put the Kirby sales person on the defensive when it pulls the disc on their little BAIRD meter thingy right up to 9 or 10, same as the Kirby he or she is trying to sell you. It’s an impressive vacuum, quiet and powerful. I highly recommend giving it a look.
